Data policy
This policy explains how business contact information appears in Patna's lead research tool, on what basis, and how to have your own details removed. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which governs everything else.
1. What lead research does
Patna offers partners a research tool for finding businesses and the people who make buying decisions inside them. When a partner runs a search, the tool queries publicly available records, the kind of information a business publishes about itself so that customers and suppliers can reach it, and returns what matches.
Results are professional in nature: a company, its registered details, a role, and a way to make contact in a business capacity. The tool is not designed for, and is not to be used for, reaching people in a personal capacity.
2. What we do not do
We do not build, maintain or sell a database of individuals. We do not enrich profiles with information about people's private lives. We do not track individuals across websites, and we do not buy or sell personal data as that term is defined under US state privacy laws.
Search results are assembled in response to a specific query and reflect what is publicly available at that time. They are not a dossier and are not held open indefinitely for browsing.
3. The basis we rely on
Where the UK GDPR, EU GDPR or a comparable law applies, we rely on legitimate interests: the interest of a business in being reachable by potential suppliers and customers, balanced against the interest of an individual in not being contacted inappropriately. We keep that balance under review, and the objection route below always takes precedence over it.
Partners using the tool are separately responsible for the messages they send, and are bound by our Terms of Service, which prohibit unlawful contact and require compliance with CAN SPAM, TCPA, CASL, GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy and comparable laws.
4. Accuracy and retention
Records are normalised and deduplicated before they can be returned, so the same company or person is not presented several times over. Details that cannot be reached at all are not useful and are not returned.
We retain access logs recording which partner searched for what and when, so that misuse can be investigated. Those logs are kept for as long as is necessary for that purpose and are not used for any other.
5. Having your details removed
You can object at any time using the form on this page. Give the business email address you want removed and, if you wish, a short reason. We suppress it, and it will not be returned by any future search.
You do not need an account, you do not need to explain yourself, and there is nothing to pay. If you would rather write to a person, use privacy@onpatna.com and we will handle it the same way.
